 On Nov. 2, 2016, Tsukiji inner market will bring the curtain down on its long history to relocate to Toyosu district which is a few kilometers away from its current site. Construction on the new site is under way and the new market will officially remove its veil on Nov. 7, 2016. It is said it will become completely shut off from outside to keep the hygienic environment and that public access will be accordingly controlled.
