Let’s roller-skate right in the heart of Tokyo!

posted on August 15, 2018

After 16 months’ absence of the former Sony Building, which was an iconic symbol of Ginza for over five decades, a new attractive feature from SONY is now the talk of the town. August 9 marked the beginning of “Ginza Sony Park” that is part of the renovation of the Sony Building. The brand-new setting is composed of one above-ground and four below-ground floors, offered as an urban park where you can “take a vertical stroll”. The ground floor features a store where you may purchase various types of plants from around the world. The below-ground areas include the shops of tea, sweets, craft beer, etc. A unique gaming space and roller-skating rink are also open but for an only limited time until September 24. Roller skates are available for 30 minutes (*a pair of socks required) and anyone can join for free. The Sony Park is located at the Sukiyabashi Crossing and its B2 floor is directly linked to Tokyo Metro Ginza station. This premise is only open until the autumn of 2020, when the construction of the new Sony Building starts.   https://www.ginzasonypark.jp/e/
